Most people don’t realise this.

LIDS. The reason all our candles come with lids is because if you don’t keep them covered when not in use, the fragrance can evaporate over time. This is why some uncovered tester candles in stores barely have any scent. (and look dirty and dusty)

We use up to 12% of fragrance in our candles and those oils are expensive. Don’t ruin them by leaving them uncovered. Use your lids, they keep your candles clean and full of their gorgeous perfume.

One size doesn’t fit all.

I use approx 10 different wick brands.

You’ll need to test different wicks for every scent you use, and different size jars obviously but the one most people over look is that the colour and material of your jar will affect how the wick performs too.
For example a black jar with the same size wick in a white jar may burn hotter. 🔥
Jars that are wider at the top are notoriously hard to wick as they will burn super hot towards the end of the candle because the wick designed for that particular vessel needs to work at the wider top part of the candle. If you see what I mean?

Candle making is difficult because you can only get them right through lots of trial and error and that is expensive because the price of wax and fragrance is extortionate now.

A tip for when you’re starting out to get your scent perfected before playing with wicks is to make wax melts first. Once you have the blend you want then it’s time to start testing wicks.
